Introduction

The MWA collaboration is using a commercial Mailman3 service to provide members with discussion lists/exploders.

The MWA Mailing Lists are strictly for MWA Collaboration Members Only

Do I need to sign up / register?

No, not at all! You can simply go into each list from the above page, enter your email address and click Subscribe.

However, there are significant benefits in creating an account:

  • You can self-manage your MWA list subscriptions.

  • You can manage how list emails get delivered to you- e.g. receiving each message or a regular digest instead.

  • You can view the mail archives for the lists to which you are subscribed.

  • You change your email address and other options.

How do I sign-up?

  • Go to List Index - lists.mwatelescope.org and click Sign up

    • For Email address use the email address which you receive MWA mailman emails already.

    • If upon submitting your signup details it says A user with that username already exists:

      • Go to , and click Sign In.

      • On that page select Forgot password? and follow the instructions.

    • Follow the instructions which will include verifying your email address and being approved by an administrator

  • Once the signup process is completed, you can sign in: Go to List Index - lists.mwatelescope.organd click Sign in

  • Once you are signed in, we recommend you go into your Account page and change your time zone, so the archive of messages displays correct dates and times.

Viewing the Mailing List archives

Once you are signed in and have subscribed to a list you can view the archives (use the Archives link at the top of the page).

Subscribing to a Mailing List

You have a few options:

  • Option 1: Sign in and manage your subscriptions via the web interface.

  • Option 2: Go to List Index - lists.mwatelescope.org, select a list and then enter your email address and (optionally) your name and click Subscribe.

  • Option 3: Email the system administrators cira.sysadmins@curtin.edu.au and we can add you to a list.

Emails from the MWA mailing lists are not being delivered to my inbox

As we have recently (August 2025) migrated to a new host and new platform, it can take a while for email systems to trust emails from lists.mwatelescope.org.

There are two domains from which emails are sent for the MWA mailing lists:

  • lists.mwatelescope.org - Actual emails from the MWA lists

  • wsi.mailmanlists.au - Account management emails (e.g. signup, password reset, etc)

Here are some steps you can follow to help ensure you get emails from these lists:

  1. First double check your Junk, Clutter or Quarantine folders/systems for your email server/client.

  2. In your email client (e.g. Outlook), whitelist the above two domains (please see the help information for your email platform or contact your IT department).

  3. It can help for your institution to whitelist emails from the two domains above at the server/service level. Best to contact your IT department about this.

  4. If you are still having issues:

    1. If you have an alternative email address (with a different provider) you might want to subscribe using that address instead as you may have more success.

    2. You can sign in to the web interface https://mwatelescope.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MP/pages/24972057/Mailing+Lists#Viewing-the-Mailing-List-Archives and view the archives so you don’t miss any messages.
